SUNY SA urges SUNY to divest from fossil fuels

At the September Executive Committee meeting the Student Assembly’s Sustainability Committee presented a resolution urging SUNY to divest in fossil fuel. The resolution called for SUNY to immediately freeze any new investment into fossil-fuel companies, and to divest within five years from direct ownership from any commingled funds that include fossil-fuel public equities and corporate bonds. The resolution was passed and will be presented at our upcoming Fall Conference in Rochester.
