Sunshine lit up SUNY Broome offices as part of an initiative pushed to shed light on greener sustainability practices for the college.

Last Friday, college officials participated in “Daylight Hour”, a social media campaign which advocates for natural light to be used in offices, instead of electricity. Last year, about 300 organizations participated in the campaign, reaching six million people on social media.

“It brings attention and focus to the idea of being more green,” said Regina Losinger, SUNY Broome vice president of administrative and financial affairs. “Outside light is very adequate for doing a lot of our work, I rarely have my internal office lights on.”
