Four SUNY Geneseo teams left Albany with awards in the final round of the New York State Business Plan Competition.
“I’m delighted about the strong showing of our teams in this year’s competition,” said Judith Albers, the VanArsdale Chair in Entrepreneurship at SUNY Geneseo. “It was an excellent and successful effort and the experience for the students was invaluable.”
Competing against 80 teams, all four Geneseo teams placed high in three categories. Twenty-seven schools participated in the seventh annual competition.
Geneseo’s teams came from the school’s VentureWorks program. The entrepreneurial program started in 2013 after the school was granted $2.5 million, the largest grant in the college’s history.
