Student Assembly Leaders Fight Climate Change in Nation’s Capital

Five SUNY Student Assembly leaders gathered in Washington DC with over 100 other student from across the country to discuss the battle ahead against climate change.

Leaders who attended the National Climate Leadership Summit from June 6 to June 8 appeared in the Albany Times Union earlier this week.

These leaders include: Student Assembly President and SUNY Trustee Marc J. Cohen, from the University at Albany, Representative Nicole Pereira, from SUNY Oneonta; Representative Samantha McVey from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry; Student Assembly Vice President Bridget Doyle, from SUNY Fredonia; and External Affairs Chief of Staff Nick Simons, from the University at Albany.

“The National Climate Leadership Summit has been an incredible opportunity for student leaders to come together over an extremely important common cause,” said Student Assembly Vice President Bridget Doyle and student at SUNY Fredonia. “We have gained extensive knowledge on White House initiatives and initiatives on a wide range of campuses in regards to climate change efforts.”
